DEwy 9-0834
The above number was my Aunt Rose’s telephone number for some 45 years or so. As you can see by the pre-fix it starts with DEwy 9 which was her area’s Telephone Exchange Name which was later phased out to All-number Calling in the 70’s and 80’s but that didn’t stop everyone in the family from reciting it the way it was first given to her.
Strange how some things stick in your mind. I’m so last century.
