Sure is pretty while it lasts

We decided that it would be a good idea and pack everyone in the Suburban and drive over to our friend’s cabin and take hot showers. We figured it would be helpful with the steam and all along with sitting on their leather couch watching a movie on the Hallmark Channel.

We didn’t realize that the country is not the city and certain roads are not on the plow list so basically the road to their house was closed due to thick ice and the possibility of sliding off a cliff and dying in a fiery ball of death. The local authorities are such drama queens. J

Plan II: take a little drive and see how beautiful things get when they have a blanket of snow on them.

The great part of living where we do is the fact that tomorrow it will be much warmer and all the snow will melt and be gone along with the inconvenience.

Sure is pretty while it lasts.

Snowing down

The Arkansas endurance illness

Just thought you like to know how we’re doing with the influenza outbreak of 2013. We’re going on the eighth day of what I like to call the Arkansas endurance illness.

We are all at different stages, with me being the first who got it; I’m at the last leg and feeling much better with Echo and Josiah running a close second to shaking this thing.

The most frustrating part of all this, besides being sick for the last 8 days, is the fact that the local authorities have said there’s nothing that can be done so stay home and let it run its course.

Easier said than done.

I don’t wish this on my worst enemy … okay maybe my worst enemy.

Sorry if this doesn’t seem right I’m not running on all cylinders.

The morning surprise

Yesterday we awoke to a cold foggy morn. 11 degrees cold.

Today we woke to snow and 18 degree cold.

I guess the beach is out.

Not

It was 65 degrees today and only half of us were able to enjoy it.
Echo, Josiah, Emerson, and I are down with the flu which started Monday
and there doesn't seem to be any relieve in sight.
According to the locals it just has to run it's course.

It has been most frustrating to me because I lost a week's worth of valuable remodeling.
No bath tub this week.

Bye 2012

As we say goodbye to 2012 and our first holiday season in the Ozarks we look towards a new year of hope and fulfilled dreams of working together as a family, creating a family business,  indoor plumbing, a vegetable garden and live stock.

Keep your fingers crossed :)

Quote of the Day

Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the believers and thinkers, but most of all, surround yourself with those who see the greatness within you, even when you don’t see it yourself.
