A portrait of Papa by Elise
Elise struggled to
hold the camera while taking this photo of me
at Legoland Florida a couple
of years back. She was 3.
Last night she snapped
this one of me during the cook out.
It’s great the way
all the kids have taken to photography, they always surprise us with their skill
and their perspective on life.
We needed a sawbuck
I built a sawbuck out of a couple of pallets the other day and got to try it out yesterday. It’s a great inexpensive tool that’s well needed when cutting down trees. It makes the task at hand must safer.
Not only are we clearing alone the creek beds but we also need to clear about 100’ behind the house so we’ll have room for the animal pens, the laundry room, and clothes line.
It seems easy but boy do I feel it comes time to go to bed.
I ain’t 25 no more.
The joys of cold mornings
The other night I neglected to remove the hose from the cistern and when we woke both the hose and valve were frozen solid. Oh did I mention we also forgot to fill the small cisterns in the house the night before too.
So the only way for us to get water would be to either wait for summer, walk down to the spring, or heat up the valve and hose until it starts to flow again.
Ten minutes of heat we had water again and went on with our day.
To some, okay maybe to many this would seem odd but it’s only a mild inconvenience. With all dreams comes patience and understanding either that or your dream becomes a nightmare.
