Coon Trouble and Mouse Trouble

It was feeding time on the old Homestead and it seems as if a raccoon had the same idea.

Hey, you don't belong in there!

Muscle in on my dry dog food will ya?

I'll knock the fire out of you!

Hey you with the camera the fight's over here ... pay attention!
Top left.

Hank managed to get a good kick in to separate Molly and the Coon but not soon enough. Molly suffered a puncture wound and some scratches on her snout and to her ego.

Where’s the shotgun when you need it?

Here we go again ...

Surely you wouldn't hurt a cute little mouse like me ... would you?

No but our cat Joe would.

Bye bye Mickey.

Nice knowin' ya.

The first swim of the season

A week or so ago Judith took the kids down to Crooked Creek to beat the heat and enjoy the creek.

So happy!

Its official

Its official my New York/Florida mindset has been replaced with the Ozark spirit way of life. You see yesterday I went to a wedding with the family dressed in a button down, a pair of cotton duck Carhartt work dungarees, and my Timberland work boots.

What would my mother say?

Echo's second birthday celebration

Once we got home we quickly had dinner (A home cooked meal by the greatest cook in the world, my wife) then we whipped out the birthday gifts and cake (Home made strawberry shortcake) for Echo.

Pocket knife ... good thing he doesn't already have one.

Judith called Echo, Inc. (The company that makes lawn tools) and told them that our son's name is Echo and it was his birthday and asked if they could send him a hat. They not only sent a hat, a shirt, and a bandana but they also included a birthday card. How cool is that?

Happy 17th Birthday Echo!

High as a kite ... er ... a plane

No thanks! We're going home.

Our plane ready for re-fueling, luggage, meals (peanuts), etc.
