The snake days of summer

As we enter into August we enter into copperhead season which means they can be anywhere like under the dog crate or by the cabin.

Our friend caught 8 in one night slithering around her house. We caught one under Molly’s dog crate and re-located it back to the woods.

The reason for the re-location is its actually again-the-law to kill a venomous snake in the state of Arkansas. To some that may not make sense but they are predatory and have a very important role in our eco system such as keeping the rodent population down.
Echo was doing the “talking on the cell phone walking back and forth thing” when he almost stepped on one by the cabin.

I guess many would be packing their bags by now but it just part of living in the Ozarks.
