Lost honey connection

We have a friend that has a tropical fruit grove on 4 acres in Davie and for the last five years or so an outside bee keeper has been keeping his bees there which gave them an over abundance of honey.  Our friend was gracious enough to pass on his good fortune to us and now it’s come to an end.

The bee keeper has decided to move his bees which means our honey connection is no more.

This is a sad day for us for several reasons; Judith uses the honey for cookie, we have been substituting honey for sugar because we feel it’s healthier, it tastes great and for me, have you seen the price of honey?  It would be cheaper to put gasoline on our pancakes.

Time to get me some bees.

How to Freeze Bubbles

Frozen bubbles would make amazing photo props!
We’d love to get these under a macro lens, too.

Did you know that you can freeze bubbles?
Go outside on any day when it’s below 32 degrees F and try this: blow a bubble and then catch it on the bubble wand.  Wait a few moments while it freezes- it will turn into a cool crystal ball before it shatters!

Too cold to go outside? You can learn how to make your own crystal ball bubbles in the freezer with soap by checking out the site below…

Emerson goes shopping at Outdoor World

We took the kids to Outdoor World last Saturday afternoon to partake in their annual “Classic Christmas” which sent Emerson over the top.  This was the first time he really was aware of his surrounding and boy was he excited.

Can you buy me a huge fishtank like that one Papa?

... with a waterfall?

Can you believe how big them fishies are?

Hey guys! Follow me.

I want one of those and one of those.

Boy I'm tired, this shopping really takes a lot out of a little guy like me.

Okay! I found it.  I want a Buck Knife. Yeah that's it a Buck Knife.

I’m happy to say after an hour and a half we left Outdoor world with lots of smiles and without buying anything. Emerson did realize that a Buck Knife wouldn’t be a very good gift for him which was a good thing.
