Greetings and salutations ...

Happy 17th Birthday Echo!

We went to one of my old stomping grounds Brooklyn Heights to celebrate Echo’s 17th Birthday. We picked Armando’s Ristorante because of its atmosphere and its good food which was excellent.

The birthday man!

Then we took a walk to the promenade to see the skyline of Manhattan.

"Mama, this?"

Oh THAT, haha, wasp's nest, Honey. I guess all the scorpions, snakes and spiders were busy. This child is too cute to be tormenting me like this. Maybe time for his first pocket knife.

Mama's Day 2013

Special outing for the family .... food cooked by someone else! Delicious meal followed by a delightful  time in the park.  As you can see from their faces, it was hilarious fun.  I'm continually amazed how well they play together.  It was a very lovely sight to behold.  Makes a mama smile ...

Eating really spicy salsa

Greetings and salutations ...

Happy Mother's Day to the greatest Mama the children and I know!

No, leaf me alone

So the boys and I decided that the best way to enrich the garden soil, was to collect leaf litter from the dry creek bed.  Not because its the best but because it was probably the cheapest, easiest solution to our poor soil issues.

I was able to get poison ivy for the 6th time in 11 months just to keep myself busy on my down time. We worked hard and had to carry the tub of leaves by hand since I couldn't get the bead to catch on the flat tire on the wheel barrow.

Loving manual labor! We all fell down exhausted and thanked God that was over. All 9 beds leafed and we did it together.

We're a great team.

Always have time to stop for a flower

Wait ... we're not stomping grapes!

One tub of leaves per bed

Lunch break

Mixing the leaves in

All done! ... sort of.  Now we just need to add vegetables.
