Life in Manhattan during the 70's

Manhattan doorway, 1974

My mom took me to Mamma Leone's for my birthday in 1975

West side highway, New York City, 1979

There was a spot on the West Side Highway where there was the old Yale truck that was perched on top of a building at 39th Street that was used as a bill board.

With all the fanfare regarding the Bi-centennial that company decorated the truck in red, white, and blue with the American flag on the trailer.

Unfortunately the West Side Highway was closed or should I say condemned prior to anyone seeing their patriotic display.  I only know about it from the story in the Sunday Daily News.
