Brings back memories

Way back when, I worked at a magazine doing all their in-house construction and maintaining their 4 color Heidelberg press. They sent me to Atlanta Georgia to Heidelberg to learn about the inner workings of the press. I was even lucky enough to bring Judith and Baby Echo along for the trip.

It’s a beautiful thing to watch a press in motion. They had a 6 color press with a laminator on backend; it’s what all the high end magazines are printed on.

It kind of gave me a connection to my grandfather who started at the Brooklyn Mirror sweeping floors when he was 8 years old and retired from the New York Daily News as stereographer when he was 67.
