Bar-b-que spare ribs and crawdads

We brought our fire ring from back home in anticipation of having a bar-b-que over an open flame.  We stopped at Harps and picked up some spare ribs and bar-b-que sauce and planned a hardy lunch.

Since we arrived in Arkansas the kids had wanted to enjoy the taste of some down home crawdads not realizing that you want some that are of pretty good size and they should be prepared in a Cajun fashion.

The first time Josiah show some in the spring pool he quickly ate one raw … pretty disgusting, huh?

Well when we made the fire we didn’t think about the fact that cut grass in blazing sun makes for a really good recipe for a forest fire so we had to run to the spring and get 6 or 8 buckets of water to soak the ground around the pit to avoid the headline; “City fools burn down county.”

Well the last bucket had some crawdads swimming around so Echo thought it would be better to cook them before eating them.

The outcome – crunchy!
