Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were quite enjoyable and stress free compared to the days leading up to the well anticipated event spent with family and friends.
As with keeping with tradition, we had a Italian Christmas Eve seafood dinner complete with antipasto, steamed clams, sautéed calamari in a hot Sicilian sauce, shrimp/lobster tail/bay scallops over a bed of linguine topped off with dessert consisting of fruits, nuts, chocolates, coffee and tiramisu or like the kids like to say; terror in the zoo.
It was a long evening but well worth the time and effort spent in preparation for such a time with good people and good food.
Christmas day started early opening gifts and finishing up the left over’s from the night before. Due to budget restraints we spent less than $40.00 on each kid and tried to buy more practical gifts that would last longer than 2 hours before imploding.
I took this coming week off so I can clean the garage, close out the year and catch up on some things that were neglected in the past month.
Hopefully I’ll have time to post the photos of family outings and events that went on between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Enjoy the week!
